Pulau Dedap and Its Umang-umang

Pulau Dedap, Dedap island in English, is one of beautiful island in Batam islands. Why did  I say beautiful? It is because this island is very beauty and nice. Why? With white sands, fresh, clean, and blue gradation of the sea water, and there are a lot of Umang -Umang (hermit crab) on this island.

I am falling I love with this island; I do know why but I am very happy to visit this island.

Pulau Rano and a Little cat

Pulau rano, Rano island in English, is one of island in Batam Islands. It is same as Abang Island. Before went to Abang Island, we stop at this island to learn about snorkeling activity. After we are lunch at Dedap island. We continued to snorkel on sea of Rano island. Rano island is a private island.

When I was there, it did not develop yet. But now, I see Rano island has been opened for tourists as the island is already developd. The island looks gorgeous, attracts tourist attention, and very different with previous.  But I like Rano island as Rano island with its natural view.

What did we find into the sea? Wow amazing! Nice view of underwater scenery, there are a lot of type of coral reef fish, a few type of fish that have many color, crabs, small and medium shape of sea urchins. Some people found nemo and they were looks very happy. On this sea, the water flows were bumpy but did not made us washed away the sea. It is 5 until 10 meters but we felt safe than before.

Pulau Abang and Its biota

 Pulau Abang, we can call it Abang Island in English, is one of islands in near from Batam island, Riau Island province. Pulau Abang is a part of Batam area. If want to go to this island, we will take more than one hour from Batam Center, as main area in Batam. We will though some famous bridges in Batam. We can call them Balerang Bridge. One of them is the popular bridge, with unique and iconic design. After more than one hour, we arrived at a dock. It is traditional and very simple dock. But there are some boats passers-by and docked on the little quay.

We open trip team were ready to go to Abang Island and wanted to snorkeling on its sea. After 5-10 minutes on our boat, we arrived at a house on the sea water. We went down from the boat and went up the house’s stairs. In that house, we put our bag, worn our snorkeling clothes, and listened some instruction about our trip and about sea biota and how to keep it.

Anambas; Air Sena and Breeding of Napoleon Fish

img_20160513_154855After lunch in Palmatak, we continued our last trip to Air Sena. It is a place for breeding fish napoleon. Napoleon fish worth considering. One kilogram rewarded more than one million rupiah. This breeding of Napoleon fish is  located in  Air sena village, District of Central Siantan, Anambas Islands, Riau Islands.

img_20160513_153713_hdrNapoleon is a type of reef fish. Latin name Cheilinus undulatus or called humphead maori wrasse. Ketipas is familiar name of napoleon fish. Local communities call it. In Air Sena Village  many people who breed the fish.

Anambas; Delicious food in Palmatak

img_20160513_142150_hdrOur stomachs were growling will be filled soon. Love it. Eyster took us to a place to eat, Pondok Lembayung. Pal Matak or Palmatak, I am confuse about it. Palmatak is a regency in Anambas Island. It has 73 islands with 4 big islands. Palmatak districts located in Matak Island, in Tebang Ladan village with the central government in Tebang Ladan.img_20160513_141715_hdrPalmatak is probably the place that is always there in my dreams besides Tarempa. This is because a research site in a thesis, has made me dream that location. I do not know about Anambas or islands I’ve visited before. I just remember some pictures in that thesis, and the locatios of the pictures are in Palmatak and Tarempa. I observed all the places I visited in Anambas. I tried to remember the similarities between pictures in the thesis and field conditions. And I understand that I’ve got the locations in the photo, even though not all of them. My dream had come true to go to Anambas. A amazing grace for me.img_20160513_150603_hdrIn Palmatak we’re not going for a walk or snorkeling. We just stopped by for lunch. Pity, we could not know a lot about Palmatak, but not a problem. If at any time come there again, call Eyster. This is because her house is in Palmatak.

Anambas; Nongkat Island and It’s Stones

img_20160513_131841_hdrWhen we talk about Nongkat Island, we will be reminded of Mr. Lahani, a guard of Durai Island. Becaouse  there is a cottage owned by Ms. Nina on Nongkat Island. I’m not so sure, but as I recall Mrs. Nina is an employee of Premier Oil, which was manage CSR for sea turtles conservation on Durai Island. She and her family has good relatonship with Pak Lahani. I can see it from some photos of them at Pak Lahani’s house when I entered that house. Pak Lahani told us that Mrs. Nina and her familly is a good person.

img_20160513_132059_hdr img_20160513_132011_hdr Dhanina cottage is the name of this cottage, the owner is Mrs. Nina mentioned by Mr. Lahani. By the time we came to the island, there is no one in the cottage. If there is a guard, we must request permission to visit or stop by the Nongkat Island.

Anambas; Penyali Island, Love your Photos

img_20160513_123232_hdrPenyali Island is the fifth island that we visited. It is located in Tebang village, Palmatak District, Anambas. The island has a variety of plants that are similar to other islands. I think that the island is still natural and there are no people living here. The advantages of this island has white sand is wide and soft enough. The scenery of this fascinating island. If you are a person who likes photography, you will get a lot of interesting photo spots.

I like this island and I get a few beautiful photos on this island. We did not do snorkeling on the island, we just took a few photos and play sea water. We also walked a little bit around the island. On this island, we find a few fallen trunks and lay on the beach. It was an interesting spot that is perfect for a place to take pictures.

Anambas; Amazing Penjalin Island

img_20160513_102359_hdrWith great enthusiasm, we sailed back after painting memories and experiences on Durai Island. We’re going to Pejalin Island. According to Eyster and her friends, Penjalin Island  is amazing island. Perhaps it is not as beautiful Bawah Island, but when you’re there may not to  go to Bawah Island and it is not big problem. Because of Visiting Bawah Island need much money than the others island. Penjalin Island is little  similar to Bawah Island. But, Penjalin is still natural and unpopulated. Besides that, Bawah Island is being built to become the island with luxury resorts.

Anambas; Durai Island and Sea Turtle Conservation

img_20160512_174732_hdrDurai Island is the third island that we visited in our trip. Compared with the previous two islands, Durai Island better known by domestic or international travelers. This is because Durai island is one of the Sea Turtle conservation in Indonesia.

img_20160512_174339_hdrpenyuTo get to Durai Island from Trenggiling Island requires a longer time, perhaps less than an hour if I am not wrong in remembering. There are several islands on Anambas Islands which is where turtles spawn. One of them in this Durai island.

Anambas; Trenggiling Island and its unique cave

img_20160512_162540_hdrAfter learning about snorkeling on Biang Island, we continued our trip to Trenggiling Island. Trenggiling in English means a pangolin. I dont know why they call the Island with Trenggiling. May be, there are a lot of Pangolins there or other reasons.  But that island looks very beauty. We did not know why Ester lay off our ship in the area of coral and rocks towering.

Anambas is a dream

img_20160511_182535_hdrAnambas is a dream. I have dreamed going to Anambas for Seven years. When I found a thesis about it, I thought that I must be there. I have been starting to dream it until now. Finally, after seven years I got a change to go to Anambas Islands. Big thanks to God for this amazing gift in 2016. I got a duty and I might to go there with my friends. Anambas is not only my dream but also my friend dream. So, this trip is our dream.

20160512_122617Reaching Anambas Islands needs hard efforts. We started our trip from Soekarno Hatta International airport. We take a plane to an airport in Tanjung Pinang, capital of Riau Islands. After that, next day we continue our trip by middle ship. The ship carries more or less 200 people for one trip. There are 2 trips every week for round trip. So, we must make correct planning if we want to go to this Islands. During the trip, we were sitting and watching a movie on the ship. If we were bored, we climbed to deck of ship and we saw sea widely. We also saw dolphin, tern, flying fish, and a few fish that we do not know the name.

Studying History on Penyengat Island

20160510_174429Indonesia is an archipelago. Indonesia has more than seventeen thousand islands spread from Sabang in Aceh to Merauke in Papua. The islands both large islands and small islands. Indonesia also has a history of many royal histories. One of them was in the Riau Islands is located on Penyengat Island. The island is located not far from the city of Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands capital. It is about 2 Km.

Penyengat Island or Penyengat Inderasakti Island is one of the small islands in Riau Islands which is a historical tourist destination. The island measures 2,000 meters long and 850 meters wide. The island can be reached from Tanjung Pinang using a motorboat or better known pompong that require travel time of approximately 15 minutes. My friend who had several times visited the island invites us to get around the island and learn the history of the kingdom which had triumphed there.
