Human statues wrapped by a snake  

img_20151120_123307_hdrAfter trying to understand more about grave stones before. we then walked approximately 20 meters toward Tanjung Aro area megalith sites. From entrance we can see there is statue that we wanted to visit. This human statue wrapped a snake is located in this area. It is located at area of rice fields and not far from residential areas.

Grave Stone, Pagar Alam


Pagar Alam has many statues. Based on, 67 statues have been registered to the UNESCO as world heritage. The statue consists of human statues, human statues wrapped a snake, stone houses, grave stones, and the dolmen, scattered in various locations, including Tegur Wangi Lama, Rimba temple, Tanjung Aro site, and mingkik. Tegur Wangi Lama site is the biggest site which consists of a number of stone statues, stone chamber, and a dolmen. Megalithic relics contained in the vegetable fields of citizens have been protected and nurtured by the interpreter maintained under the coordination of Balai Pelestarian Peninggalan Purbakala Jambi.

Ampera Brigde, the Landmark of Palembang

190900_origIMG_20151119_121234How many times I have come here. This is Ampera Bridge; this is the landmark of Palembang city. We know that this bridge save a history. I do not know much about it but I am proud of it. Every time I journeyed by a long bridge I always remember Ampera Bridge. Ampera bridge is a vertical-lift bridge in Palembang, South Sumatera. The bridge connects Seberang Ulu region and Seberang Ilir region. The regions is two region in Palembang.

Back to Taman purbakala Bukit Siguntang

Taman Purbakala Bukit Siguntang is a historical place in Palembang. This place near from my senior high school, Senior High School 10 Palembang. When I was a student at my school, I have never been here. Therefore, I wanted to go there so much. Finally, after I have graduated from my campus and I back to Palembang, I decided going there with my friend. I only knew that the place is a historical place. Now, I want to tell you about the place that I know when I came there.

Based on Wikipedia and my experience, I know that Taman Purbakala Bukit Siguntang is a 29-30 meters high small hill located at the northern bank of Musi River and within the vicinity of Palembang, capital city of south Sumatera, Indonesia. The location is located around 3 kilometers north from Musi River and around 4 kilometers southwest from Palembang city center.
