When first entering the province of Gorontalo, I hope I can climb to the famous tower in the province. Unfortunately, when my friends and I arrived at the bottom of the tower. Lift tower was damaged and could not take us to the top. But it does not matter, just look at the its tower has become an interesting experience. The tower was called the Tower of Greatness Limboto, in Indonesian Menara Keagungan Limboto.
While in Gorontalo, we intend to visit the traditional house. The traditional house that we visit first is the traditional house that is located in the Village Dulohupa Limba, South City District, Gorontalo. That is Dulohupa Traditional House. One of Gorontalo Traditional Houses.
Indonesia has many traditional houses. Each province has at least one custom home. There province which has many forms of traditional house. One of them is Gorontalo province. The province has approximately four traditional houses. One of the houses is called Bandayo Poboide traditional house.
Otanaha Fortress is a historic fort in Gorontalo which have been built in the 15th century although at this time no longer intact as before. Otanaha Fortress is located in the Village Dembe I, Kota Barat sub-district, Gorontalo. Based on many resources, Otanaha fort was built in 1522 by King Ilato. The fort was built on the initiative of the Portuguese master of the ship docked at the Port of Gorontalo. The initial goal was as defense and security of the nation from attack. According to some sources, the fort was only built from a mixture of sand and limestone. while the adhesive comes from the egg Maleo. This fort actually has three names in three of fortress, which Ulupahu, Otahiya, and Otanaha. But it is more popularly known as Otanaha Fort.
After trying to understand more about grave stones before. we then walked approximately 20 meters toward Tanjung Aro area megalith sites. From entrance we can see there is statue that we wanted to visit. This human statue wrapped a snake is located in this area. It is located at area of rice fields and not far from residential areas.
Pagar Alam has many statues. Based on Kompas.com, 67 statues have been registered to the UNESCO as world heritage. The statue consists of human statues, human statues wrapped a snake, stone houses, grave stones, and the dolmen, scattered in various locations, including Tegur Wangi Lama, Rimba temple, Tanjung Aro site, and mingkik. Tegur Wangi Lama site is the biggest site which consists of a number of stone statues, stone chamber, and a dolmen. Megalithic relics contained in the vegetable fields of citizens have been protected and nurtured by the interpreter maintained under the coordination of Balai Pelestarian Peninggalan Purbakala Jambi.
Mangkok waterfall is one of waterfall in Pagar Alam city, South Sumatera. People also called it Pancur Waterfall. it was because the water flow like a giant shower.
Pagar Alam is one of city that has many waterfalls. One of them is, Curup Embun or in English Dew Waterfall. It is about 2 KM from Pagar Alam, east of tea garden in slope of Dempo Mountain at Curup Jare village, Kecamatan North Pagar Alam regency.
Have you heard about Puncak Tea Garden in Bogor, West Java? If you have heard about it or visited that place. You must visit another tea garden in Indonesia. In my hometown, we also have tea garden.
We call it Dempo Tea Garden or Pagar alam tea garden.
An offering from a man who has a Ketek, a speedboat, has led us to Kemaro Island. My friend and I decided to visit this island because I had been there a few years ago. I have several stories about the island to tell her. However, I thought that it is not enough; she must go there to know much about Kemaro Island and its legend.
How many times I have come here. This is Ampera Bridge; this is the landmark of Palembang city. We know that this bridge save a history. I do not know much about it but I am proud of it. Every time I journeyed by a long bridge I always remember Ampera Bridge. Ampera bridge is a vertical-lift bridge in Palembang, South Sumatera. The bridge connects Seberang Ulu region and Seberang Ilir region. The regions is two region in Palembang.
I think that I forgot one place, we also visiting Vietnam Pagoda in Berastagi. We searched on internet and found Pagoda Location. We went there just for a few minutes, just saw and taken photo and then we continued our trip. But, before it we enjoy this pagoda first.
We searched on internet about Berastagi hot spring and had a plan to visit it. Therefore, we discussed about it and estimated about visiting duration. Our driver so interested in invited us to visit it. So we said yes but we have said that we have no much time. Therefore, we crank up our car to visit it. We go through to the direction and after a few minutes, we arrived at the location. This hot spring called Lau Sidebuk debuk.
After visiting Berastagi View, we continued our trip to Si piso-piso waterfall. We moved to Karo regency. Si piso-piso is one of the highest waterfalls in Indonesia. It is about 120 meters.
Almost step round to all of Samosir Island; we continued our trip to Berastagi. We need to know about Berastagi and its nature.
After we enjoy the hot water and nice Mountain View, we decide to continue out trip to Brastagi Regency. As long as we were in our trip, we saw great view of Toba Lake and its mountain. We climb-up a few clinures. When we were in an intersection, we find an indication-board we saw an interesting letter. There is a winker about Efrata Waterfall.
Seeing amazing Toba Lake, Samosir view, and its mountain is experience of greatest price. My friends and I saw Toba Lake, Samosir view, and mountain as long as we went along the edge of Samosir roads. We saw them and decide visiting hot spring, Hot water, in Pucuk Buhit Mountain. This area is located in 3 km from Pangururan. This hot spring is under Pusuk Buhit Foot Mountain. This mountain is the highest dot in Toba Lake Area.
To go to the place we rented a car. When we found Pucuk Buhit Mountain View. It is very nice and great view. We stopped in amazing landscape and Mountain View; we saw Toba Lake from the top. We took a fee photos. After enjoying those views, we continue our trip to Hot Spring water. We wanted to try hot spring bathing place. Tourist called this hot water as Hot Spring. Besides that, local people known as Aek Rangat.
In samosir island, North Sumatera, there is a famous beach or Toba Lake front. Toba Lake resident call it, Pantai pasir Putih Parbaba, in English; Parbaba White Sand Beach.
I always love beach, I love visiting beach everywhere. When my friends and I visited a beach in Samosir Island. But I forget the name of the beach until now. I just remember it is Ho… beach. It is because I forgot to capture or write the name of the beach when I was at that location.
In North Sumatera, we can see many megalithic stones. My friends and I have an opportunity to visit one of them. We visited Huta Siallagan – Siallagan Village- at Ambarita Village, Simanindo, Samosir Island. Stones around the village, it likes wall to protect people who lives there. Laga Siallagan King Government build this village. We can reach this area by public transformation or rent a car to look around Samosir Island. If we want to visit this place, we can see many stone chairs and a table stone. These called Batu Parsidangan, in English we can call it Meeting Stones.
If you visit somewhere in Sumatera, you often meet Megalith archaeological sites. My friends and I also visit one of them at Siallagan Village, Simanindo Sub district, Samosir Island, North Sumatera – Indonesia. We visited Parubalangan Stone chair salt; in Indonesia, we call it Parubalungan Kursi Batu Sira. This relic is the oldest King Sialagan archeological remains. Sira stone chair is a place as a court and penalization for criminals; thief, rapist, and killer.
Toba Lake is very amazing and beautiful lake. Not only see the lake but also its panorama. Wow! Toba Lake is located in North Sumatera, Indonesia. Base on many sources, Toba Lake, Danau Toba in Indonesian, is large natural lake occupying the caldera of a super volcano. Toba Lake is about 100 km long, 30 km wide, and up to 505 m deep.
Do you know Dora the explorer? Yes, I cannot tell many things about the Dora. However, I want to share about Dora Lake. The Lake is located at LIPI complex, jalan Raya Bogor km. 46 Cibinong. People who work at LIPI do not call Danau Dora, Dora Lake. Hmm… I forget it! My husband’s friend ever told about it but I forgot. Next time I will edit this post if I remember the name.
This Lake is located at Eco Park LIPI, Cibinong. My husband and I went to this place by motorcycle. We used Google map to reach this place. Besides that, we can also take public transportation to go there. After arriving at noon, the weather was very hot. We sat under the tree to protect us from the sun as fast as. While we were sitting under the tree, another people were taking picture at Dora Lake although the weather was very hot.
If you like, taking photos or selfie, you can come to this museum, De Mata Trick Eye Museum Jogjakarta. If you think, you are shy to take photo or selfie at somewhere. Forget it! In this museum, you are free to take many photos and unlimited photo. You just pay for thirty five thousand rupiah and get unlimited photo.
Pandansari Beach also has unique thing same as Baru Beach. If on Baru beach there are many windmills, on Pandansari Beach we can climb a Mercusuar. It is 40 meter.
My husband and I visited this place because he suggested me to climb the Mercusuar. He said that the Mercusuar is high and difficult to climb. We drove motorcycle to go to this place. It is near from Baru beach, goa cemara, and Kuwaru beach. We can take the way same as when we want to go to those beach. This beach in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta.
I love seeing windmills; I hope someday I will see it in Holland. However, today I interested in many windmills in Pantai Baru, Baru Beach in Bantul – Yogyakarta. I do not know why the name of this place is Pantai Baru. Baru is mean new in Indonesian. However, I was embittered to know about the beach and windmills. My husband loves it too. Base on the reason, we decided taking after wedding photo at this place. After we finished taking photo at Abang Temple, we continued to go to Baru Beach.
The windmills are generator that use hybrid as its power. They stand among the trees and bushes near from Baru Beach. On the beach we can took many interesting photo and enjoy the sea wind. Continue reading
Candi Abang, Abang Temple, is located at Blambangan, Jogotirto village, sub district, Sleman regency, Yogyakarta. My husband and I went to this place to take after wedding photos. My photographer suggests this place for us. They just said that the place is very beautiful and amazing for our photo. Therefore, we accepted her suggestion.
People seldom visit this place because it is far from Main Street and just a little direction to reach it. From Yogyakarta, we drive a private car, and we tried to reach the place. We also used Google map to find it. After parking our car in that village, we continued our trip on foot to get the location.
Remembering Disaster makes us sad and sometimes we cry although we did not there when the disaster happened. When I went to Padang city, I decided to visit Disaster and Earthquake Museum to know about the situation. Many beaches have old stories or legends. We have heard about the legend from visitors who have visited the beach or from local community who live there. We can believe it or not bur some people believe that the legend is true. In Indonesia, we often find about beach legend such as on Parang tristis beach Yogyakarta with Ratu Kidul legend and on Air Manis beach in West Sumatera with Malin Kundang legend. A few weeks ago, I got a change to visited Air Manis beach.On that beach, we not only hear a legend of the beach but also we can see an evidence of the legend. We can see Malin and his ship that has been stones. Malin is a character in that legend, he has been disobedient to his mother after he went on a journey looking for work and has become a rich-man. I always dream that I can go to a place alone. I dreamed that I walk alone to visit beautiful beach or a city which I have never been there. Last November, I got a change to go to Padang alone.
Every Province has every history, custom, and culture. We must preserve them for young generation later. Besides that, we also appreciate it as cultural heritages which always protected by us. Although we cannot protect it completely but we must keep it as good as we can. Government has important role to protect and conserve it. Because of it, Government builds Museum. Museum is a place to collect and protect it. Whereas, we visitor also keep it well. Let us go to museum! It is an invitation in order to go to museum by Indonesian museum. Therefore, when I go to some places I hope I can visit a museum to know about culture or history in a place. When I went to Padang City, West Sumatera, I provide an opportunity to visit museum. I visited Adityawarman Museum and also Disaster and Earthquake Museum.
Enjoying Sunset is an interesting Idea but we cannot see the sunset because of heavy rain. Sometimes, we have planned our time to enjoying sunset when we do trip but the weather does not permit us. Therefore, we have to change that plan to another plan but it is okay, isn’t it?
A few months ago, I went to Padang City to take a civil servant test. I have made a plan to enjoy sunset on the Padang Taplau Beach in the afternoon after finishing my test. I wanted to enjoy sunset on that beach because Padang beach near from guesthouse. It is about 500 meters. Moreover, I could spend a lot of time while enjoying the sunset on this beach. Unfortunately, rain felt down heavily. I had to cancel my plan and I hope next day I would be find interesting sunset. I think I was not lucky when I was there. As long as I was in Padang City, rain felt down heavily every afternoon. It was bad time but it is okay, so I visited the beach in the morning. I myself went to Padang, so I visited this beach alone.
Visiting mangrove forest is good idea to spend our holiday. We can get not only tourism experience but also some information about mangrove. My friend and I went to Wisata Alam Mangrove; Taman wisata alam Angke Kapuk Jakarta Utara, Jakarta Mangrove resort, in North Jakarta on last November.
If we want to spend our time on shoreline or mangrove forest, we can visit Suaka Marga satwa Muara angke or Muara angke Nature Reserve. Base on data from many sources on Internet, this place has 1.344,62 ha and the smallest nature reserve in Indonesia. Although the place is so small, this place is very important for some species, which live there. We will find some of mangrove tree and other species that live there including animals. We can see some of bird species; little Pecuk-padi, kuntul, kareo padi, and many others. There are more or less ninty species of birds. We can find twenty-eight water bird species and sixty-three forest bird species. Approximately, seventy birds are protected birds by government. Besides the birds, we also can find a group of monyet ekor panjang (Macaca fascicularis). This monkey has important roles in the nature reserve because they help to distribute seed in this forest. Moreover, we can meet beaver (aonyx cinerea) and some of reptiles such as biawak air, sanca kembang, ular sendok jawa, and the others.
Enjoying interesting scenery can make us happy or comfortable. We see trees, flowers, and grass spread out. Wow, it is very amazing. To see all of them, we can visit forest or botanical garden. If we want to know much about the plants, we can visit a botanical garden. We can see not only scenery but also get some information about the plants.
My friend and I went to one of Botanical Garden in Indonesia a few days ago. We visited Bogor Botanical Garden. Bogor Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden located at Jalan Ir. Haji Juanda No.13 Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. It is about 60 km south of Jakarta. The garden is in the city center in Bogor. Besides that, the garden also adjoins the Bogor President Palace.
If we go to Bogor city by commuter train, we can also find a place to take a rest next to Bogor station. We can take a rest for a moment at Taman Topi. The garden is located at Jalan Kapten Muslihat No. 51 Bogor West Java. This garden named Taman Topi because there are some roofs of building that have a shape like cap. At this garden, we can find a Tourist Information Centre (TIC) building. We can look for some information about Bogor tourism destination at TIC. We can ask about how to reach the tourism destination in Bogor. Besides that building, we can see other building that offer many things such as restaurant, café, travel agency, internet rental, advertising, and publishing. Restaurant and café offer various menus such as traditional food, fast food, and cakes.
When we were child, we often play a kite. Sometimes, I still remember that I have ever chased a falling kite. Today, I think the action is very dangerous. Thus, when I was child it was nice moment. Sometimes, I did not think that was dangerous action. I just thought that I had to get the falling kite. I just wanted to play happily.
A few days ago, I tried to remember my memories about a kite. I went to Kite Museum. I went there by public transportation. Kite museum is located at Jl. H. Kamang No.38, Pondok Labu, South Jakarta. I started my trip from East Bekasi. I took Mayasari Bus to Blok M terminal and then took a Metromini 610 to reach Kite Museum. I stoped at one third of the ways at Jalan RS. Fatmawati. I found an information board about the Kite Museum at the area. After that, I walked to the museum. It is about 350 meters.
Manga is a Japanese comic. I like it. I like Bleach and Inuyasha manga, how about you? Do you like manga? My friend, Ojan, invited me to go to a Book fair in JCC Senayan. He said that there is a manga festival at that place. I was interested in his invitation, so I went to the festival.
Reading manga or Japanese comic is interesting hobby. Some people like reading manga so much. It does not astonish if many people look for the manga in every place. We can find the manga at bookstores, comic rental, Internet, and other place. We can find some manga in Bahasa or English. We seldom find the manga in Japanese. Because of the reason, Ambassador Café offers a situation where we not only eat food but also read some manga.
I like an airplane. I always think that airplane is if transportation to reach my ambition. My teacher said, “Make a paper airplane and fly it! It means same as you try to reach your ambition.” Because of the story, I always think that airplane is interesting transportation. It always remains me to always remember my aim. Okay! I do not tell you about my aim, I will tell you about one of museums that have airplanes. My friend and I went to Satria Mandala Museum.
I have a dream to go to England someday. I often watch videos about tourism in England, besides that I also look for some information about social life in England. A few days ago, there is a European Destination Fair in Balai Kartini, Jakarta. Because of my dream about England, I attended the event. I came alone but it is okay. I could see offering tourism destination at the event. This event is the first event in Indonesia. The event started from 18 to 19 October 2014. Visitors just paid ten thousand rupiah for entrance ticket. We could find many interesting travel and cultural offering from many countries in European.
On 28 September 2014, My friend and I came to Galeri Nasional Indonesia. The Gallery is a place to show art/exhibition building. We started our trip by Trans Jakarta Bus way Corridor 1, blok M-Kota direction. When we reached Monas shelter, we had to move to another bus way, Pulogadung direction. After we passed through two shelters, we stop and go down from the bus way at Gambir 2 shelter. We continued walking to the gallery for 5 minutes. The gallery is located at Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur No. 14 Central Jakarta; the place is in front of Gambir Station. Jak-Japan Matsuri is an annual Japanese big event in Jakarta. We, Ojan, Anna, and I, came to ending day of Event. We had to pay thirty rupiah to come into the event. Location of the event was at JCC Senayan. The place was at Gelora Bung Karno area. The event happened from 14-21 September 2014. The opening of the event on September 14 and closing on 21 September. Many agendas did at this Event. The even took a place at Plaza Senayan for Japan Week event and Closing Event at JCC Senayan. We just came to the Closing Event. The event started from 10 a.m. and Ended at 9 p.m.
Visiting cemetery is not bad idea. I think we can find some information about the cemetery. In this trip, I will tell you about Taman Prasasti Museum. The museum is one of museums in Jakarta. The first, we can reach this museum in Central Jakarta, near from National Museum. From National Museum, we can walk for ten minutes to the place. The second, we only pay five thousand rupiah for one adult ticket and we can see many beautiful cemetery.
Sometimes we, my friend and I, do not know where we want to go for trip. We are confused if we have gone to some tourism place in some places, especially in Jakarta. Because of the reason, we could not decide where we wanted to go. Finally, we chose to go to museum again. We had already wanted to go to museums but we did not decide yet. There are two places, which we wanted to visit. First in Tanah Abang area, Museum Textile, and the second is museum that near from National Monument area. Therefore, we decided to go to the first place. We started our trip from Pancoran area. From here, we can take Metromini 640 Pasar Minggu- Tanah Abang direction or APTB bus Bekasi-Tanah Abang direction at Pancoran Tugu shelter. We took Metromini until a place under the bridge. After we arrived, we continued our trip on foot until we found Tanah Abang Block G market. The museum is not far from the market. We can reach the place on foot.
Before we entered the place, we looked for some meals near the museum area. We did not have breakfast yet, so we were very hungry. After having breakfast, we walked to the place and bought two tickets, 5000 rupiah for one adult ticket. The museum opens on Tuesday-Sunday at 9 am – 3 p.m.
My friend and I are always confused if we want to take a walk in Bekasi. I do not know much about tourism in Bekasi but as long as I have been living here, I have not found the tourism yet. I search it on the Internet and find malls, supermarket, beach, and one historical building. Because of visiting mall is not good idea we choose to visit beach. Unfortunately, beach location is so far from my house. In the end, we decided to visit historical building. The name of that building is Gedung Juang 45 Bekasi. Location of the building on JalanHasanudin, near from Tambun Selatan Market.
My friends and I came to this Event at the morning but the Event opened at 10 am. Therefore, we might wait the opening. So many visitors visited the Event. The location of this even was at boulevard UI. This event did during 3 days. We came at 3rd day. Many agenda did at this event. The agenda such as; Seminar” How to Survive in Japan”, Workshops; Oshibana, Chanoyu, and Udon, All type of competition; Vanguar, Kanji, Eat Okonomiyaki, Eat Takoyaki, Eat Ramen, Coloring, and, Photograph, Exhibitions: DioromaGundam Competition, Comic and Fan Art competition, Aikido Demo, Kendo Demo, and many other agendas. At the end of the event, There were Tokyolite and Permfomance by Yun*chi, Japanese singer who sing Ending song of Anime NHK E with the title” Log Horizon.”
A few weeks ago, Faozan and I went to one of the museums in Jakarta. Although the Museum is usually called “Gajah Museum”, its original name is National Museum. We went to the museum by public transportation in Jakarta, TransJakarta bus. Because I was from Bekasi, I took an APTB bus and then took Transjakarta bus, whereas my Friend took Metromini 640 and then Transjakarta because he was from Kalibata area. We stopped at Monas shelter and then walked about 5 Meters to the museum.
Before we started to come in the building, we saw Gajah statue at museum yard. We took some photo at this area. Later we continued to the building. After arriving at the Museum area, we bought 2 tickets at ticket desk in front of the museum. After that, we started to visit the museum.
Visiting an outdoor event is very crowded! There are many people at the event and the weather is very hot. My friend and I have an experience about that situation when we visited Pekan Rakyat Jakarta Monas at Monas Tower area. We went to Monas on Sunday by Trans Jakarta Bus way Corridor I, Blok M- Kota direction. We stopped at Bank of Indonesia shelter and go through to the Monas Area. The distance between the shelter and gate of Monas is about 50 meters. We can reach that place on foot.
